How To Adjust Ford Car Clock
Many people own Ford cars, and the marque continues to be popular. Adjusting the clock on a Ford is a simple process that some might find daunting, particularly in newer models. Fortunately, you can easily adjust the clock even if it has physical buttons or a touch interface. This guide provides tips that you can use to adjust the clock on all Ford models, whether recent or not.
Ford Cars that have Clocks with Physical Buttons
Most Ford cars manufactured between 2005 and 2010 have physical buttons that are used to adjust the clock. The 2008 Ford Focus has two clocks: one on the radio and one on the instrument cluster. This does not complicate adjusting the clock; you only need to change the radio clock and the time on the instrument cluster will also change. This is how to go about it:
- Press the middle knob on the radio to switch it on or take it to the ‘Home Page’.
- The ‘Clock’ button is located to the top right of the radio. Press it to get options to change date and time.
- To change the hour, press the left arrow on the bottom of the knob, then rotate the knob clockwise to increase and anticlockwise to decrease the value. To change minutes, press the right arrow and similarly use the knob.
- Once satisfied, press the ‘Clock’ button again. The radio and dashboard clocks will both be adjusted.
Ford Cars with Digitized Interfaces
Most Ford cars from 2010 have a touchscreen infotainment interface that shows the time and date. To adjust the date on earlier models such as the 2011 Ford F150, the process involves:
- Tap the time shown on the infotainment screen on the dashboard.
- A screen with edit functions will pop up. There will be up and down arrows to the left and right of the time indicated in a larger font. The left arrows are used to adjust the time and vice versa. Pressing up will increase the value and down will decrease it.
- There are toggles for 12 or 24-hour mode beneath this. Choosing the 12-hour mode allows you to toggle between AM and PM, located to the right of this option.
- Auto Daylight Savings Time is on the menu beneath the clock. When you press the button to activate it, Daylight Savings Time will be changed automatically depending on your location. When not activated, the button is greyed out.
- The Auto Time Zone item comes after this and enables the vehicle to automatically adjust the time depending on the time zone if this is enabled.
