Carville is located in Iberville Parish, Louisiana and is a small town with a population of just over 1,000 people. The town was founded in 1822 by Joseph Carville and was originally known as Carville-St. Gabriel. The town gained its current name in 1892 when it was merged with the nearby town of St. Gabriel.

The town is best known for being the home of former President Bill Clinton’s nationally televised speech following the 1994 Congressional elections, which became known as the “Comeback Speech.” Carville also played host to the 1996 Democratic National Convention.
